Job Summary

As an HR Representative, you will support various HR functions with a primary focus on recruitment and hiring. This role requires flexibility to assist with a wide range of HR activities across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work independently while supporting the overall HR team.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with management at all levels of the organization, ensuring confidentiality and exercising sound judgment.
  • Guide management through the full recruitment process, including the ATS application, interview procedures, internal transfers, applicant status updates, and new hire orientations.
  • Review resumes and engage with potential candidates promptly, conducting both phone and in-person interviews.
  • Assist hiring managers in scheduling interviews and coordinating staffing needs.
  • Actively participate in job fairs and other staffing-related events, working collaboratively across functions.
  • Collaborate with the Morongo Gaming Agency to complete pre-employment screening processes, such as background checks and drug testing.
  • Ensure all new hire records, status changes, and transfers are accurately updated for proper payroll and benefit processing.
  • Assist with team member file inquiries, providing authorized parties with necessary information.
  • Maintain and update HR electronic bulletin boards.
  • Generate ad-hoc recruitment reports to assess the effectiveness of recruitment methods.
  • Stay current on changes to labor laws, ensuring recruitment processes comply with applicable regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient with HR software, including Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meeting deadlines and achieving project goals.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or a combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience with online job boards (e.g., ZipRecruiter, Indeed, Monster) preferred. 

Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

  • Successful completion of a background investigation and ability to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, interpret, and implement policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Ability to write reports and routine correspondence.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and the public. 

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. 

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve problems independently with minimal guidance.
  • Strong judgment skills and the ability to interpret and follow instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and diplomacy when interacting with others. 

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, use hands for typing and operating office equipment, and communicate both in person and over the phone.
  • Adequate dexterity to operate office equipment, such as computers, telephones, and calculators.
  • Must be able to hear conversations in person and on the phone.
  • Visual acuity to ensure the quality of work and make observations as needed.
  • Occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 20 pounds. 

Work Environment:

  • Office environment with low to moderate noise levels, good lighting, and a non-smoking policy.
  • Casino environment with moderate to loud noise levels, dim to moderate lighting, and a smoking environment. 

Working Hours:

  • This position may require flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. A typical workweek is 40 hours, but hours may vary depending on business needs, with potential for overtime.
