Job Summary

The Marketing Database Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of database management and direct mail operations within the Marketing Department at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and segmentation of player data used in loyalty marketing campaigns, while supporting detailed analysis of offer-based, event-based, and promotion-based marketing initiatives. The Marketing Database Manager plays a pivotal role in optimizing guest engagement strategies through data-driven decision-making and cross-functional collaboration

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and maintains the player tracking database to support marketing campaigns and guest retention strategies.
  • Utilizes SQL (Structured Query Language), MySQL, and MS SQL to extract, analyze, and report data from multiple internal and third-party sources (e.g., ACSC, SDS, Viz Explorer).
  • Ensures accuracy, security, and cleanliness of all marketing data sources; partners with IT to resolve technical and data integrity concerns.
  • Performs data analysis to monitor player behavior and campaign effectiveness; collaborates with Planning and analysis to measure the success of events, promotions, and direct mail efforts.
  • Coordinates all aspects of direct mail marketing, including segmentation, scheduling, auditing, and post-campaign analysis.
  • Supports the creation of reports and dashboards by preparing clean, actionable data sets for Planning and Analysis.
  • Assists with the planning and execution of promotional programs aimed at increasing guest visits and engagement.
  • Monitors industry trends, competitive landscape, and internal campaign results to recommend data-informed marketing strategies.
  • Ensures compliance with internal control procedures and gaming regulations while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Leads and manages departmental staff by setting clear expectations, providing coaching, and supporting professional development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership and direction to team members within the Marketing Database function.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, evaluating, and coaching staff to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Establishes clear job expectations and productivity standards while maintaining a positive and secure work environment.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of direct mail strategies, player tracking systems, and casino marketing operations.
  • Proficiency in SQL, MySQL, and MS SQL with demonstrated experience in developing compliant queries, reports, and data models.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access and Excel; knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and data visualization tools is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience in statistical analysis, data interpretation, and presentation of findings.
  • Familiarity with casino gaming systems, including slot-floor mapping and business intelligence tools such as Viz Explorer.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate across teams while adapting to a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years of progressive experience in the gaming industry, including senior-level database marketing leadership.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.

Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

  • Visual Acuity: Requires close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus while reviewing data and documents.
  • Working Conditions: Regularly works in both office and casino environments, with exposure to moderate to high noise levels and a smoking environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.

                                   

WORKING HOURS:

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
