Job Summary

Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of Slot Machines, Video Lottery, Class II bingo and related electronic gaming devices in the casino Slot Repair Shop. Performs complex repair and modification work on slot machines with minimum supervision.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Performs major, more complex repair and modification work on slot machines with minimum supervision
  • Instruct and monitor technical aspects of slot repair staff work performance.
  • Ability to install, remove, convert, perform preventive maintenance, prepare games, set options and repair games and peripheral equipment  in a field environment
  • A good understanding of Electronics, AC/DC Fundamentals and experience repairing Electronics
  • Perform maintenance and repair functions to electronic faults at board level of slot equipment.
  • Understand and carry out detailed instructions.
  • Research and diagnose slot equipment malfunctions.
  • Follow all departmental policies and procedures.
  • Teach troubleshooting techniques to fellow workers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and translate schematic diagrams.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate and lead casino service projects.
  • Supervise and delegate work. Build and work within a team environment.
  • Assist on gaming floor with minor tilts, jams, and customer service functions
  • The ability to regularly lift 75 pounds and the ability to stand a full shift is required for this job
  • Strictly adhere to established internal controls concerning the slot machines, the internal components and the repair procedures.
  • Observe all safety and gaming regulations when performing assigned duties.  Report safety hazards to assigned supervisor.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Knowledge of a variety of class III and class II games is essential, along with a passing grade on a written knowledge test. Understanding of coin-in and player development data management systems is helpful; proficiency with office software applications is required. Extensive knowledge of electronics theory, multi-testers, schematics and troubleshooting analysis are required. Experience with metal fabrication and design is beneficial.  Must have discretion to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information. Must be competent with various PC based software programs.  Must possess excellent business sense and high professional ethics. Ideal candidate will have excellent customer service demeanor and be able to work cooperatively with coworkers.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required.  2 year electronics degree and 2 years slot tech experience required, or 3 years as a Slot Tech. Knowledge of basic machine shop operations is essential.  A passing grade of a written test is required.  Strong organizational and communication skills, and the proven ability to perform in fast paced and goal oriented environment. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Reading, writing and interpersonal communication in English are key to the successful conduct of this position. Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret technical reports and to write reports and correspondence.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.   

 

REASONING ABILITY

Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. 

 

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS

Position requires valid Class C drivers license and ability to obtain NIGC gaming license.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. While performing the typical duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to manipulate or feel, talk and hear.  The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The casino slot repair shop has moderate to loud noise levels.
