Job Summary

Supervise Casino Housekeeping functions and staff to ensure upkeep of the Casino and Public Areas.  

 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all cleaning materials, chemicals and equipment are used in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Ensure that all OSHA safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Utilizes proper/approved cleaning materials and solutions.
  • Responsible for the supervision and coordination of housekeeping staff activities throughout the Casino complex as needed.
  • Advise management of repairs and replacements necessary in assigned areas and is accountable for the cleanliness and overall condition of public areas, restrooms and offices by performing routine inspections.
  • Assign work duties, track attendance, vacations, etc.
  • Perform scheduled inventory counts of all hard and soft goods and orders as needed for all shifts.
  • Works with Facilities management and administrative assistant on a daily basis to insure the integrity of the department and staff.
  • Assist with normal housekeeping duties when short staffed.
  • Assist with special event clean up and crew management.
  • Assess and solve problems within the department.
  • Works with other departments as needed to maintain a pleasant and safe working environment for guests and team members.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Requires strong leadership and motivational skills. Will interact with various levels of staff, management, government officials, and the public. 
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; grooming standards, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

Qualifications

Knowledgeable in the use of cleaning products. Must possess and display a working knowledge of OSHA standards. Must be competent with various PC based software programs. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with public and staff. Must possess excellent business sense and team member relations.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required. A minimum of two years’ experience in supervisory housekeeping. Strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to perform in a fast paced and goal oriented environment.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read, write & speak English. Ability to interpret documents and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form such as rules and regulations, instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to write reports and correspondence.  

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. 

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to develop and maintain harmonious working relationships with staff and guests.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; taste or smell. The team member frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The team member is occasionally required to sit. May be required to climb. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The office environment has moderate noise levels and is a smoking environment. Field conditions are strongly weather-dependent and may be hot, dusty, cold, muddy and/or wet depending on season and the degree of exposure.

 

WORKING HOURS:

Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require team members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.
