Job Summary

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) leads the strategic planning, development, implementation, and management of all technology initiatives across Morongo Casino Resort & Spa. As a key member of the Executive team, this role ensures that the resort’s technology infrastructure aligns with business objectives, regulatory standards, and guest service excellence. The CIO oversees the performance, reliability, and security of information systems, providing leadership to the IT department and ensuring the seamless integration of technology across all departments.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes an enterprise-wide IT strategy that supports the resort’s operational goals and long-term vision.
  • Partners with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with evolving business priorities.
  • Directs the operation and integration of all IT systems and applications, ensuring reliability, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversees the design, implementation, and management of local area networks, data systems, and mainframe operations across all departments.
  • Assesses and approves hardware and software solutions to ensure alignment with strategic goals and compatibility across systems.
  • Establishes and enforces IT department policies, procedures, and best practices in accordance with Morongo Gaming Agency’s Minimum Internal Controls.
  • Leads efforts in cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and data integrity across all platforms.
  • Drives innovation by identifying emerging technologies that can enhance guest experience, operational efficiency, and organizational capabilities.
  • Leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning tools to drive productivity, automation, and data-informed decision making.
  • Develops a hybrid-cloud infrastructure strategy to modernize legacy systems and improve scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborates with resort operations and marketing to enhance the guest experience through smart rooms, dynamic offers, and personalized services.
  • Strengthens cybersecurity programs and defenses across all platforms, systems, and endpoints to safeguard property, team member, and guest data.
  • Designs and deploys agentic systems to automate internal workflows and guest-facing interactions for greater efficiency and consistency.
  • Mentors and develops IT staff, fostering a high-performance culture within the department.
  • Ensures all IT practices are in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides strategic leadership and direction to the IT team, promoting collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruits, trains, and develops departmental staff while maintaining a safe, secure, and growth-oriented environment.
  • Establishes performance metrics and provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and evaluations to ensure departmental success.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality with access to sensitive and classified information.
  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise-level IT systems, hardware, software, and operating platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, cybersecurity, and IT regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in information technology leadership roles.
  • At least 5 years of executive-level experience directing IT strategy and operations in a complex organization.
  • Proven experience overseeing enterprise-wide technology initiatives, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, applications, and data governance.
  • Strong background in IT governance, digital transformation, and aligning technology with organizational goals.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, UKG Pro, or similar) and enterprise application integration preferred.
  • Prior experience in hospitality, gaming, or similarly regulated industries is strongly preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

  • Visual Acuity: Requires close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus while reviewing data and documents.
  • Working Conditions: Regularly works in both office and casino environments, with exposure to moderate to high noise levels and a smoking environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.

                                   

WORKING HOURS:

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
