- Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and direct large-scale facilities operations, including building and grounds maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting, paving, grading, and general engineering systems.
- Experience in inventory control, budget development, and cost management.
- Knowledge of cogeneration plant systems is preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical), and facility operations best practices.
- Experience overseeing large-scale capital projects, maintenance programs, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Prior experience managing budgets, vendor contracts, and strategic planning for engineering or facilities departments.
- Experience working in a hospitality, gaming, or high-volume, fast-paced environment strongly preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES & REGISTRATIONS:
Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required. Must maintain a valid California Driver’s License and eligibility for coverage under Morongo’s insurance requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with executive leadership, engineering staff, contractors, vendors, and other department leaders; responsible for overseeing all facility maintenance, safety, and infrastructure projects, as well as leading team operations and cross-departmental coordination.
- Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally lifts and carries tools, reports, blueprints, or small equipment weighing up to 30 pounds; may assist with site inspections or project-related movement of materials.
- Manual Dexterity: Frequently uses hands and fingers to operate computers, radios, write reports, handle tools, review plans, and inspect equipment and building systems.
- Mobility: Frequently moves throughout the property, including mechanical rooms, rooftops, exterior grounds, and back-of-house areas; requires walking, standing, bending, climbing ladders, and navigating stairs during inspections or emergency response situations.
- Stationary Work: Occasionally remains seated while preparing budgets, reviewing project plans, writing reports, and communicating with outside vendors or internal departments.
- Tool Operation: Occasional use of hand tools, radios, diagnostic devices, and standard office equipment; responsible for understanding and directing the use of heavy-duty equipment, building automation systems (BAS), and mechanical systems.
- Visual Acuity: Requires both near and far vision to inspect facilities and equipment, review blueprints and construction documents, monitor contractor performance, and ensure building code and safety compliance.
- Working Conditions: Routinely works in varied indoor and outdoor environments including mechanical spaces, rooftops, and public areas; exposed to noise, heat, cold, dust, confined spaces, and potential hazards. Regular exposure to a smoking environment while transitioning through casino or public areas.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.
WORKING HOURS:
Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
