Job Summary

Responsible for keeping assign grounds and outside areas clean and free of debris, presenting the guests a safe and pleasant sight.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintain all lawn areas, mows, weed eats and edges, as well as maintaining all exterior trash receptacles and picks up and properly disposes of all exterior trash and debris.
  • Prunes and trims trees, shrubs according to directions.
  • Transplants trees, shrubs, flowers and other plants.
  • Maintains permanent plantings and lawn areas.
  • Cleans pop-up or pulsating sprinkler heads, flags sprinkler heads for replacement.
  • Seeding areas, laying sod, distributing top dressing where gardening is required, digging, planting trees and shrubs, pruning and trimming trees and shrubs as directed by the supervisor.
  • Perform basic operator maintenance such as cleaning and washing vehicles, sharpening mower blades, making equipment adjustments and checking tire pressure, oil and water levels.
  • Maintain and clean fountain.
  • Perform custodial work in the parking area picking up litter and removing trash, cleaning road gutters, culverts and other water drainage structures.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge of groundskeeper practices. Ability to do groundskeeper work following instructions and directions. Ability to use and maintain motor vehicle operator tools and equipment.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required. Experience must demonstrate the ability to perform the work of a groundskeeper.

 

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES & REGISTRATIONS:

Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The team member is required to walk. May be required to climb. The team member is occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms. Position involves functioning both in an office environment and in the field. Field work involves manual labor, and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Field conditions are strongly weather-dependent and may be hot, dusty, cold, muddy and/or wet depending on season and the degree of exposure.     

 

WORKING HOURS:   

Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require Team Members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.
